Fr. Augustine Kallumkatharayil

Fr. Augustine Kallumkatharayil was born on 18 September 1979 in Nadavayal, Wayanad, Kerala, India. As an incardinated priest for the Diocese of Mananthavady, he was ordained on 29 March 2008 at Holy Cross Major Archiepiscopal Pilgrim Centre, Nadavayal. He faithfully served in various parishes in the Diocese of Mananthavady until September 2017.
Since October 2017, Fr. Augustine has been carrying out his pastoral ministry in the Syro-Malabar Catholic Eparchy of Mississauga. From October 2017 to April 2021, he took on the role of pastor for Syro-Malabar missions such as Grande Prairie, Grimshaw, High Level, McLennan, Fort McMurray in Alberta, and Dawson Creek and Fort St. John in British Columbia. From July 2019 to April 2021, Fr. Augustine served as the Director of Western Regional Pastoral Center in Edmonton.
In May 2021, he was appointed as the Pastor of St. Mother Teresa Syro-Malabar Parish in Ottawa and the Director of Catechesis for the Syro-Malabar Catholic Eparchy of Mississauga. Fr. Augustine was appointed as the pastor of St. Alphonsa Syro-Malabar Cathedral in Mississauga in June 2023 and continuing as the Director of Catechesis.
