CML – MISSION SUNDAY CELEBRATION

 2025-10-31 14:10:03

On Mission Sunday, October 19, 2025, members of the CML (Cherupushpam Mission League) gathered with great joy and missionary fervour. After attending their regular catechism sessions, students assembled at Kannampuzha Hall, where they were warmly welcomed by Mr. Raju Pynadath (morning session) and Mr. Vijay Jose (afternoon session). The session began with a prayer led by Fr. Sijo Jose Arikkat.

A highlight of the day was the initiation of Grade 5 students into the CML association, where each child received the CML badge and was officially welcomed as a member. In the morning, CML Animator Ms. Princy Olakkengil presented an engaging session on the origin, founders, mission, and responsibilities of CML members, along with the theme for the coming year. In the afternoon, Mr. Vincent Pappachan continued the session, deepening the children’s understanding of missionary life. The event also featured a mission rally around the church, where CML and HCA (Holy Childhood Association) members from Grades 3 and 4 carried flags and placards, joyfully proclaiming Jesus to the community. Following the rally, a mock auction was held to teach the importance of financial support for the Church’s mission, allowing children to participate and win prizes.

The day concluded with the official inauguration of activities for CML, HCA, and Jesus Kids associations. The ceremony was led by Fr. Augustine Kallumkatharayil, who lit the ceremonial lamp symbolizing the light of faith, followed by the Holy Qurbana, marking a blessed beginning to the new year of faith formation and mission.

HCA – MISSION SUNDAY AND ANNUAL INAUGURATION

The Holy Childhood Association (HCA), together with Jesus Kids and CML, joyfully celebrated Mission Sunday on October 19, 2025, reflecting on the divine call of Christ: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” — Matthew 28:19

The celebration began with the inaugural ceremony of HCA’s annual activities at St. Alphonsa Cathedral, following the Holy Qurbana for both morning and afternoon batches. The event was graced by Fr. Augustine, Fr. Sijo, and Sr. Pauline, along with animators and catechism students. Together, they performed the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing Christ’s light guiding every child’s missionary journey.

Following the inauguration, children gathered at Kannampuzha Hall for reflection and mission activities. The HCA children led a lively Mission Rally, carrying colorful flags and placards while joyfully chanting mission slogans. Their energy and smiles radiated faith and love for Jesus, inspiring everyone present. A special presentation by HCA animators helped children better understand the meaning of Mission Sunday and their role in sharing Jesus’ love through prayer, service, and acts of kindness.

The celebration concluded with a call to renew our missionary commitment, reminding all that when we serve together in faith, “we become Christ’s hands and heart in the world. Together, we can make a difference — one act of love, one prayer, one child at a time.”
