Pithruvedhi
Pithruvedhi is an association for all the married male members of our Parish. In our Parish, Pithruvedhi was constituted in June 2021. St Joseph, the most Holy Spouse, is our patron saint. True to the characteristics of its patron saint, Pithruvedhi strives to inculcate the importance of being selfless, family-centric and leading the family in a life of prayer and worship.
Activities
As a part of the Pithruvedhi program, we have conducted a talk on family life by Fr. Kurian Puramadam in the month of June. In August 2021, based on Aadhya Phalam Daivathinu, the parishioners brought homegrown vegetables to sell in an auction. Almost $2,000 was collected and a major portion of this amount has been given, as a charity, to the poor families in India.

Pithruvedi partnered with Assumption Catholic Cemeteries, helping parishioners reserve ~75 cemetery lots.

- Mr. Antony Manjila was elected Eparchial-level President.
- Santhosh Joseph designed the newly approved Pithruvedi logo.
- Fundraising food stall at Sunday School Annual Day featured Kappa Biriyani.
- Father’s Day celebration included a talk by Fr. Augustine and a session by Sr. Christy CMC.
July 2024
- On July 21, 2024, Pithruvedi and the Seniors Forum celebrated Grandparents Day, with Fr. Harold honoring their wisdom, love, and vital role in guiding future generations.
- On July 27, 2024, Pithruvedi marked the Church Feast eve with appam-chicken curry sales and a group song, celebrating community spirit, teamwork, and fellowship.
August 2024
Pithruvedi members prepared food for the parish picnic, fostering community spirit.
September 2024
A day trip to Toronto Centre Island with ~40 seniors offered scenic bonding time.
October 2024
On Oct 27–29, 2024, Pithruvedi led the Rosary at the Cathedral and hosted Dr. Rex Joseph’s parenting session, strengthening spiritual bonds, offering practical guidance, and fostering community among couples in a multicultural setting.
December 2024
In Dec 2024, Pithruvedi honored Bishop Jose’s ordination and sold Christmas plum cakes, introducing their banner, fostering joy, gratitude, and community spirit during the festive season.
February 2025
On Feb 23, 2025, Pithruvedi’s food fest raised funds for Cathedral altar decorations.
May 2025
On May 24, 2025, Pithruvedi joined St. Alphonsa Cathedral’s Environment Day, aiding cleanup, tree planting, and promoting sustainability.
June 2025
On June 7, 2025, Pithruvedi’s appam and egg curry stall at Sunday School Annual Day raised funds for charitable programs. On June 15, a Father’s Day celebration featured a youth photo contest, prizes, and gifts honoring fathers.
